Braking Away

TEN years ago, riding a bicycle through the streets of New York was still considered outlandish behavior at best, and possibly insane. At the time, I viewed this with chagrin, but also complacency. I biked everywhere.

A nice little essay. for the last few(5) years I have been deeply involved with City bicycling. It pays a little. There are some very strange things done. I will go into it in detail soon. It is still the way to deal with distances found in the city. there are paths on the bridges and you can take a folder or other small bike on the subway.

still, there is the problem of storage and parking. effective chains are massive.
