Obama Issues Sharp Call for Reforms on Wall Street

The banking crisis was caused by the absence of regulation . . . period. The current banking model does not provide for a stable economy, we know that now. It DOES provide well for the few at the top that are positioned to gain from speculation whether that be from their superior 'in the know' knowledge, or their superior holdings. Bailouts are not acceptable, they merely pay the gambler for winning - or losing. Wall Street's recent success didn't create value for the economy, it destroyed it. Regulate. Done. That was easy.

Truth often is. Selling a lie is much more expensive. That costs us all. David Brooks is very slick at doing that.----------http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/23/opinion/23brooks.html---------------Paul Krugman is an antidote. ---http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/23/opinion/23krugman.html---------------
