Techies laugh at everything Apple does. Apple laughs all the way to the bank. Fortunately for Apple, there are more regular people than techies in the world. I'm not buying an iPad in order to do serious computer work. I have a computer for that. The iPad is an entertainment device. If all the iPad is is a cross between my iPhone and my Kindle, I'll be happy with that.

All the techies I know look at Apple with lust in their hearts. It does not do what they want done but it does what it can beautifully. Linux tends to follow their example with the addition of owner control. Macintosh uses a platform independent open source operating system and a proprietary browser. The move from IBM to Intel was seamless.
