Guess what, Gail, the Democrats have discovered TOUGH LOVE! And President Obama too! Guess they are all in some kind of 12-step therapy which is teaching them the way to deal with impossible, irrational people (Republicans)--making a stand and sticking to it. Of course, it has not hurt that the Democrats FINALLY went on the offensive with the Wall Street vs Main Street metaphor! Or that this is an election year--HELLO, Mitch McConnell! But it sure feels good to see our (formerly) wussy Democrats hanging tough, and our (learning fast) cerebral, conflict-averse President chewing out greedy bankers! I do not think November, 2010 is going to be as dismal as many say! In fact, if the Democrats can stay mean and focused, I see chances of victory! Tea Baggers like tough talk, and since they are more in love with tough than they are with any particular issue, I even see possibilities here!

Good policy may get through congress!

Unfortunately, as we learned in the Regan administration, the immunity granted during an investigation aborts criminal prosecution.
