Does IMF Stand for Impressive Macroeconomic Flexibility?
So the IMF is holding a meeting on rethinking macroeconomic policy (I was invited but couldn’t make the timing work.) And the Fund’s chief economist has already made it clear that he’s open to some serious revision of the prevailing paradigm.

      Blame the unions.

Greek Premier Faces Impasse Over Demand to Cut Private Wages
      section A - page 7
      http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/05/business/global/greek-official-says-barriers-remain-in-talks-with-creditors.html?ref=global

"Agreement was reached on issues like the recapitalization of Greek banks and the privatization of state assets, Mr. Venizelos said.

“Two major, interrelated, issues remain unresolved — labor relations and wages in the private sector, and the fiscal measures that must be taken to ensure we are within target for 2012,” Mr. Venizelos said after a two-hour conference call with euro zone officials. Despite the barriers, a deal must be reached in bailout talks by Sunday night, he said.

Earlier in the day, state television announced that a meeting scheduled for Saturday between the Prime Minister Lucas Papademos and the leaders of the three parties in his coalition had been put off until Sunday afternoon as talks between the government and creditors dragged on. Mr. Papademos is expected seek political support for a new round of austerity measures.

“Everything must be completed by tomorrow night, all the issues must be resolved, commitments made and procedures set in motion to ensure we are on deadline in view of the bond expiry in March,” Mr. Venizelos said. He was referring to a 14.5 billion-euro payment that Greece must make on March 20 or face a potentially disastrous default."
      This looks like a "NO!".

Barney Frank (roommate ran a brothel out of their government subsidized apartment), Gary Studds (inappropriate relationship with a 17 year old male page),, Ted Kennedy (Chappaquidick), Bill Clinton ( Monica Lewinsky), etc., all kept their jobs. All were or are liberal Democrats. And apparently shameless. This guy e-mailed a picture of himself without a shirt and the cries of self righteous indignation come forth on this site. Well at least he had the decency and self respect to resign. More than I can say about some others.
Strange,  I heard none.  I didn't see any either.   Troll.

If I agree with the politics I can cut a lot of personal slack.
      Something about first stones.

New York Congressman Resigns Over Shirtless Photo
This is too rich. Rep. Gary Studds had "inappropriate" relationships with a 17 year old male page. He was censured but stayed in office. Rep. Barney Frank's boy friend ran a homosexual brothel out of his government subsidized apartment. Barney remained in office. Ted Kennedy ...that doesn't need repeating. And of course, there's always Bill Clinton who ejaculated on a subordinate's dress. He finished his term. Of course they were all liberal Democrats. And then this guy sends out a picture of himself without a shirt and suddenly the floodgates of self righteous moral indignation are opened here. But at least he had the decency and self respect to resign. Of course, he was a Republican.

      Just a troll.
I would rather have a thinker in office.
Even a thinker with nasty personal habbits.

At this point they are just a good way to get hurt.
Vote every chance you get.  Organize voters against Republicans and conservative Democrats.

The Victorian mind set is reborn.
I should have guessed that the style grows from the mind.
I object to the pandering that is at the heart of the fashion.

G.E.’s Strategies Let It Avoid Taxes Altogether
General Electric is skilled at avoiding taxes, lately to the extent that the Treasury owes the company money.

I do not find it shocking that a rigged system is rigged.
What is shocking is the attempt to protect the fix after it is discovered.

No Mortgage Lenders in Jail, but a Borrower Lands There
The government did send someone to prison for actions related to the subprime mess. But not who you’d expect.

There is a bit more threat of action this time.  If we send these malefactors to prison their empires will crumble to dust.  This time the empires will crumble and then the creators can be jailed.

Windpump in South Dakota, USA

This design has proven to be very practical at low speeds.
It does not kill birds.
Other designs run at higher speeds and scale larger.
They kill birds.
The really big machines run tip speeds near the speed of sound.
They are noisy and they kill birds.
I find that stepping motors make good AC generators.
Use photovoltaic arrays  at large scale.

      'Dexter' Watch: Vigilante Partners
Fans of the short-lived ABC drama “Eli Stone” were surely happy to see its star, Jonny Lee Miller, turn up on “Dexter” on Sunday night. I know I was. Mr. Miller aces just-shy-of-sleazy charm, though here he is a full-on sleaze and psychopath: a mo...

I have seen a few episodes of Dexter.  I am far from current.
Jason B. is probably enthused with the Tea Party.
He seems to be twisted in a different way than the Dexter character.
Psychopathology is loaded with political bombs.
I have made no secret of my views.
